This week I have heard about an interesting research that Intel is pioneering on a software that allows to “read” human mind “thoughts” : CNET on the TechHeaven Intel announcement.
Although the technology is still in its infancy (it allows to detect with 90% confidence a word that a person has just been thinking about … provided that the same word has been already acquired by the mind monitoring system) it opens a lot of thoughts on the future possibilities of this kind of technology: how long will it take before we get to have a “mind reader”? will it be used to interact with electronic devices and/or other human beings?
Sounds like some of the Fringe’s projects are coming to reality …
